Kalaignar Karunanidhi has written the story, screenplay and the dialogues for the film Kannama.

While most of the film's shooting was over, the film crew closed the session after one final song sequence involving tele-serial Mettioli fame ‘Bose’ Venkat and Vindhya.

This song sequence which involves hot scenes and gestures needed some hot lyrics as well. Popular lyricist Vaali gave some hot lyrics for the song. With the end of the song’s shooting, the film unit packed up their bags, as it was the end of Kannama’s shooting.

When the whole film was shown to Kalaignar Karunanidhi for a preview, he felt that the final shot song, a little too much to bear and eventually ended up scraping of some of the shots and making readjustments in such a way, that when he is finished, the song is more than that of censored.
