Bala is a new age filmmaker and he does not simply toe the line of the producers. This is reflected in the gutsy choice of themes for his films. After giving Vikram and Surya the much needed boost to their careers, Bala has earned the reputation of being a discerning cineaste. So, he produced Mayavi under his own banner, B Studios. His next film starring Ajith is called Nan kadavul. This was to be produced by A.M. Ratnam. However, now Ratnam has backed off citing the first copy condition insisted upon by Bala. So, Bala himself will produce and release the movie.
