Gangai Amaran, maestro Ilayaraja’s brother, who has several musical hits to his credit, is also an active performer on the stage and television. He regularly travels around the world for live music shows with his orchestra. He hosts several talent hunt programs on television, the most popular one being Pattukku Pattu on Sun TV. Now, he is off to Singapore to act as the moderator of a debate show organized there for which the title is “Are old Tamil songs better than new ones?” On the team arguing in favor of old songs are lyricists Muthulingam and Piraisoodan and on the other team are Pa.Vijay and Snehan. There is bound to be plenty of fireworks with Gangai Amaran’s own pungent comments.
