Out of the 8 films expected to be released on Pongal, only 6 films made it to the screens. They are Thirupachi, Devathaiyae Kandaen, Ayutham, Ayyaa, Iyer IPS and Dancer.

Thirupachi is in the number one position and all the theatres in which Thirupachi is shown are house full for the first week. It is a mass entertainer and Vijay has satisfied all his fans in this movie.

Ayyaa and Devathaiyae Kandein have earned quite a good amount for the producers so far. Aayudham and Iyer IPS are doing a fair trade, but Dancer has not impressed the audience.

The ranking of these movies may change in the course of time.
