  Simbu's Stock

He made a name as a talented child artist who could do juggling tricks to wow the film audience. In his early films, especially Dum, he did some antics like gesturing hands, tossing cigarettes etc. But in Kovil and the recent Manmadhan, Simbu had dispensed with them and concentrated on cinematic content. At the recent Dinakaran awards nite, he took a dig presumably at Superstar Rajinikanth by saying that tricks and antics cannot compensate for talent. Acting is a creative pursuit to be done with passion. Such a rude comment at a public occasion has put the boy again in a controversial spotlight with talk of non-cinematic reasons for the spat. Anyhow, respect for seniors is a virtue that everybody can do well with.
