Being a mass entertainer, Vettai has been receiving rave reviews from all quarters. The latest to review this film is the New York Times. This is probably the first Tamil film to be reviewed by the New York Times and it is indeed a proud moment for the South Indian film industry.

Vettai has been directed by Lingusamy who has given a clean entertainer for the family audiences. The film stars Arya, Madhavan, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for this film.
