Karthi seems to be taking an unusually long gap to announce his next film. Sources say that the actor is looking for extraordinary scripts that will give him a chance to hold on to the current position he enjoys in Kollywood or move further up.

It is learnt that the star is interested in listening to scripts from freshers raring to make a debut in Kollywood and has been encouraging them. According to sources close to Karthi, the star feels that fresh ideas from newbies will be received well by the fans and he is trying it out.

If things work out well for the actor, he may soon be joining hands with a debutant director.
